WMB Coils

WMB spirals provide protection against chips, thereby preventing premature wear of spindles, shafts, and columns. This maintains the machine’s performance and extends its service life. Vertical and horizontal installation

The installation orientation must be specified when ordering
When installed horizontally, WMB spirals are fitted with the larger diameter facing the direction of chip flow. With a larger diameter or longer extension, the maximum extension is reduced to 60 per cent of the value achieved with vertical installation. Furthermore, a slight sag develops in the WMB spiral, amounting to approximately 2–5 per cent of the maximum extension.

Retrofitting

Retrofitting of WMB spirals is possible. Care must be taken to ensure that the version designed for retrofitting is used.
