DISA AG Sarnen supplies torque sensors for tool calibration, test benches, laboratories and production. The range includes stationary sensors, handheld sensors and rotary sensors, some with angle measurement.

DISA AG Sarnen is an official n-gineric distributor in Switzerland. We supply the manufacturer’s torque sensors and, on request, calibrate them in our accredited laboratory in Sarnen.

Which torque sensor suits your application?

Choose the sensor by measuring range, rotating or static shaft, accuracy and interface. Our sales team will be happy to advise you.

What is a torque sensor?

A torque sensor (also called a torque transducer) measures the torque on a shaft, tool or component and outputs it as an electrical signal. The unit is the newton metre (Nm) or, for small values, the newton centimetre (Ncm).

Which types of torque sensors does DISA offer?

From Mark-10 the universal sensors R50 and R51, the square drive sensor R55 and the R52 for tool calibration. From n-gineric the stationary sensor ng-TTS, the handheld sensor ng-TTH and the rotary torque/angle sensors ng-TTR, ng-e TTR and ng-vTTR. In addition, rotary sensors from ETH Messtechnik and NCTE. Which measuring ranges are available?

The range extends from the Ncm range with the Mark-10 sensors up to 20,000 Nm with the ETH Messtechnik DRVL. The NCTE 5000 series is designed for high torques up to 10,000 Nm. Rotary sensors such as the ETH DRBL are available for speeds up to 22,000 rpm.

How accurate are the sensors?

This depends on the series. Examples: NCTE 3000 series ±0.2%, ETH Messtechnik DRBL ≤0.25%, DRBK ≤0.5% and NCTE 2000 series ±1%. Exact values are given in the data sheet of each series.

Which outputs and interfaces are available?

ETH Messtechnik sensors provide a voltage signal of ±5 V or ±10 V. Depending on the series, NCTE sensors offer voltage outputs, 4–20 mA, CAN or USB. The n-gineric sensors communicate via USB, Ethernet or ng-Link.

Which sensor is suitable for calibrating torque tools?

The Mark-10 R52 series is specifically designed for calibrating torque tools. For square drives there is the robust R55 series.

Where are torque sensors used?

For example for testing torque tools, on test benches and in test fields, in fastening technology and on gearboxes. For connection to Maxon gearboxes there are the ETH series DRDML, DRDMN and DRDMS, and for wet environments the waterproof DRWPL.

Can DISA calibrate the sensors?

Yes. Our calibration laboratory in Sarnen is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 (SCS 0083) and calibrates torque sensors up to 1000 Nm, with either an SCS certificate or a factory report. More on the calibration page.
