What is a sensor screwdriving system?

A screwdriving system with integrated torque and angle sensors. On the handheld ng-eTDH, these sensors allow precise monitoring of every screwdriving operation.

Which sensor screwdriving systems does DISA offer?

From n-gineric the stationary ng-eTDS sensor screwdriving systems, the handheld ng-eTDH sensor screwdrivers, the handheld ng-TDH sensor screwdriving systems and the handheld ng-TDHQ sensor measuring screwdriving systems. Which torque ranges are available?

ng-μTDH05: 5 to 50 mNm. ng-TDSQ: versions with full-scale values from 10 to 500 cNm. ng-TDS: versions with full-scale values of 50, 100 and 200 cNm. ng-eTDS: 0.1 to 5.0 Nm. ng-eTDH: 0.1 to 1.0 Nm, 0.2 to 2.0 Nm and 2.0 to 20 Nm.

How accurate are the systems?

Torque measurement accuracy is 1% for ng-TDS and ng-TDSQ, 2% for ng-eTDS and ng-eTDH and 3% for the ng-μTDH05, each of full range. Angle resolution is 0.1 degree on all versions.

How do the ng-TDH and ng-TDHQ measure?

A strain gauge based rotary torque sensor is integrated directly at the bit chuck. The torque signal is digitised with 24 bit on the sensor rotor and transmitted contactlessly and digitally from the sensor rotor to the housing. The angle resolution of 0.1° is measured at the bit chuck. The controller is integrated and the motor is brushless.

What do the adaptive screwdriving strategies do?

They compensate for variations in head contact torque when driving thread-forming screws. The aim is a clamping force that is as constant as possible, even for critical screw joints. On the ng-eTDH, multi-stage adaptive strategies with superimposed parameter windows detect deviations and prevent NOK parts from entering the process.

What are the systems suitable for?

ng-eTDS: series assembly and production workstations, quality assurance and test stations. ng-eTDH: screwdriving processes in industrial series production as well as joint analysis and process validation before series start. ng-TDHQ: measuring and adjustment tasks, as these systems are designed for precise recording of torque and angle at low speed.

Which interfaces do the systems have?

Most versions ending in “i” offer USB, Ethernet, Modbus/TCP, RS-232 and digital I/O, the versions ending in “u” offer USB. The ng-TDS200-xi has a digital interface to the ng-TDC. On the ng-eTDH, connection to a process data management system ensures complete documentation and traceability of all screw joints.
