A sensor screwdriving system is a screwdriving system with integrated torque and angle sensors. This allows every screwdriving operation to be monitored and documented.
DISA AG Sarnen supplies stationary and handheld sensor screwdriving systems from n-gineric with torque ranges from 5 mNm to 20 Nm. This guide shows the criteria for your choice. You will find all systems in the category Sensor screw systems.

Sensor screwdriving systems from n-gineric
| System | Type | Torque range | Measuring accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| ng-eTDS | Stationary | 0.1 to 5.0 Nm | 2% |
| ng-TDS | Stationary | Full scale values 50, 100 and 200 cNm | 1% |
| ng-TDSQ | Stationary, measuring screwdriving system | – | – |
| ng-eTDH | Handheld | 0.1 to 1.0 Nm, 0.2 to 2.0 Nm, 2.0 to 20 Nm | 2% |
| ng-TDH | Handheld | 1 to 100 cNm | 1% |
| ng-TDHQ | Handheld, measuring screwdriving system | 1 to 50 cNm | 1% |
| ng-μTDH05 | Handheld, micro | 5 to 50 mNm | 3% |
Measuring accuracy refers to the total range (source: product page or n-gineric catalogue). The angle resolution is 0.1 degrees for all systems. A dash in the table means that the value is not stated. We will be happy to provide it on request.
Four criteria for your choice
1. Type
- Stationary: ng-eTDS, ng-TDS and ng-TDSQ
- Handheld: ng-eTDH, ng-TDH, ng-TDHQ and ng-μTDH05
2. Torque range
- ng-μTDH05: 5 to 50 mNm
- ng-TDH: 1 to 100 cNm, ng-TDHQ: 1 to 50 cNm
- ng-TDS: full scale values 50, 100 and 200 cNm
- ng-eTDS: 0.1 to 5.0 Nm, ng-eTDH: up to 20 Nm
3. Accuracy and angle
- 1%: ng-TDS, ng-TDH and ng-TDHQ
- 2%: ng-eTDS and ng-eTDH
- 3%: ng-μTDH05
- Angle resolution 0.1 degrees for all versions
4. Application and interfaces
- ng-eTDS: series assembly, quality assurance and test stations
- ng-eTDH: series production, joint analysis and process validation
- ng-TDHQ: measuring and adjustment tasks at low speed
- Interfaces USB, Ethernet, Modbus/TCP, RS-232 and digital I/O, depending on version
Documentation of every screw joint
Most versions ending in “i” offer USB, Ethernet, Modbus/TCP, RS-232 and digital I/O, the versions ending in “u” offer USB. On the ng-eTDH, connection to a process data management system ensures complete documentation and traceability of all screw joints.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sensor screwdriving system?
A screwdriving system with integrated torque and angle sensors. On the handheld ng-eTDH, these sensors allow precise monitoring of every screwdriving operation.
What do the adaptive screwdriving strategies do?
They compensate for variations in head contact torque when driving thread-forming screws. The aim is a clamping force that is as constant as possible, even for critical screw joints. On the ng-eTDH, multi-stage adaptive strategies with superimposed parameter windows detect deviations and prevent NOK parts from entering the process.
How do the ng-TDH and ng-TDHQ measure?
A strain gauge based rotary torque sensor is integrated directly in the bit chuck. The torque signal is digitised with 24 bit on the sensor rotor and transmitted contactlessly and digitally from the sensor rotor to the housing. The angle resolution of 0.1° is measured at the bit chuck.
